I am feeling so energized finally! In my 18 weeks now and all the morning sickness is gone! It's crazy how much different I felt the last 3 months and now. Just one of those emotional ride of being pregnant.
We will be having our big ultrasound in 3 weeks to thoroughly go through the scan and finding out the gender as well! I am so looking forward to see the little one again and I am hoping that Josh can take some time off from work to go for the appointment with me. The appointment is going to take about 2 hours, so it is unusually long for a doctor's appointment leave. I am positive!
I am physically feeling the little kicks lately, and it feels like doing a fish spa :)
The kicks come pretty unpredictable and can keep me up at night.
So far, the little one has been kicking in the evening more.
I am at an odd phase with all my clothes now, definitely too snug for my pre preggo but too small for my preggo wardrobe..arrghh..
A lot of people still comment that I am not showing much, and I attributed that to my big pelvic bone :)
God has been showing me so much about this pregnancy and I am discovering His newness everyday!

Yes, it's official---turned 26!! It has been getting more and more exciting for me and yet there are so so much for me to learn. The truth is there are just petty things to complain, but the better truth is there are just countless blessings overflowing.
It has been a few episodes of celebration here.
On Friday,Josh and I had a rather what we thought romantic turned out to be an unforgettable moment for us. We decided to go to cheesecake factory for dinner, and the wait was forever!! But it was worth the wait!!
On Saturday, my family in law brought all of us to Angus Barn (supposedly one of the top 10 fine restaurants in the whole of US). It was my first time there and the service was top notch! The servers really make sure your food is cook just the way you want, if you say "but", they will take your food away and make you a new one that you suggested. We ended up with a full plate of desserts for free and some free dinners too~( details omitted)
Of course, the presents were overflowing and I was totally overjoyed with all the great gifts that was graciously given to me. Thank you so so much my loved ones!!
On Sunday, which was the exact DOB, we went to church and later that afternoon had steamboat with some church friends for Chinese New Year! It was so incredible to be able to taste food just like back in Malaysia again~

I am totally grateful for all those moments spent with family and friends.
Praise God for the past, present and the future!!

What is the origin of the Christmas tree?

The Christmas tree today is a common custom to most of us. There are many interesting connections to ancient traditions such as Egyptian and Roman customs, early Christian practices, and Victorian nostalgia. However, most scholars point to Germany as being the origin of the Christmas tree.

One of the earliest stories relating back to Germany is about Saint Boniface. In 722, he encountered some pagans who were about to sacrifice a child at the base of a huge oak tree. He cut down the tree to prevent the sacrifice and a Fir tree grew up at the base of the oak. He then told everyone that this lovely evergreen, with its branches pointing to heaven, was a holy tree - the tree of the Christ child, and a symbol of His promise of eternal life.

Another story from Germany is about Queen Victoria. She often visited relatives in Germany and while she was there, she fell in love with Prince Albert. After they were married, they moved back to England to raise their family. Prince Albert decorated a tree and ever since that time, the English, because of their love for their Queen, copied her Christmas customs including the Christmas tree and ornaments. This story took place in the 19th century, around 1830.

Another story about the origin of the Christmas tree says that late in the Middle Ages, Germans and Scandinavians placed evergreen trees inside their homes or just outside their doors to show their hope that spring would soon come.

Another legend that has not been proved is that Martin Luther is responsible for the origin of the Christmas tree. This story says that one Christmas Eve, about the year 1500, he was walking through the snow-covered woods and was struck by the beauty of the snow glistened trees. Their branches, dusted with snow, shimmered in the moon light. When he got home, he set up a small fir tree and shared the story with his children. He decorated the Christmas tree with small candles, which he lighted in honor of Christ's birth.

Research into customs of various cultures shows that greenery was often brought into homes at the time of the winter solstice. It symbolized life in the midst of death in many cultures. The Romans were known to deck their homes with evergreens during of Kalends of January 15. Living trees were also brought into homes during the old Germany feast of Yule, which originally was a two month feast beginning in November. The Yule tree was planted in a tub and brought into the home. But there is no evidence that the Christmas tree is a direct descendent of the Yule tree. Evidence does point to the Paradise tree however. This story goes back to the 11th century religious plays. One of the most popular was the Paradise Play. The play depicted the story of the creation of Adam and Eve, their sin, and their banishment from Paradise. The only prop on the stage was the Paradise tree, a fir tree adorned with apples. The play would end with the promise of the coming Savior and His Incarnation. The people had grown so accustomed to the Paradise tree, that they began putting their own Paradise tree up in their homes on December 24.

Whatever legend you wish to pass on, remember that Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The origin of the Christmas tree can't change that fact.

Here is our masterpiece for Christmas 2007!!

1st July 2007 marked a very important date for the church that Josh and me are growing now spiritually as the leadership of the church sensed the Holy Spirit led them to collect a huge sum of money to bless the Urban Street Ministry in my area. The story started when the local government cut out about $30,000 from supplying financial need to the ministry. We were all aware of that in the area, but we were really surprised that God came to stir our hearts that very day. The goal was to collect $30,000 from a congregation of about 500 people on that very day itself. God is faithful when we are, so the whole amount came up to $40,000 after the leaders counted the amount given on that day.

This is an article that I cut and paste here from the newspaper on Tuesday (July 2nd). The news spread so fast that even some TV reporters came to give a report about this rare event!! Definitely God incident..

Budget cut leads to $40,000 gift

Budget cut leads to $40,000 gift
By Lanita Withers
Staff Writer

GREENSBORO — Last week, leaders at Greensboro Urban Ministry were wondering where they’d get $30,000 to cover a budget cut to its emergency homeless shelter.

Monday, they got their answer.

Whitman Toland, pastor of Christian City Church Greensboro, stopped by the agency with a $40,000 check, money donated by his congregation in a offering on Sunday.

Toland said he was spurred to collect an offering after reading an article in the News & Record last week about the Urban Ministry’s jewelry fundraiser to cover the budget cut.

"I knew it was a chunk of change," Toland said. "But I just knew in my heart, sitting in our church, not only do we have the potential to do it. I felt a sense of responsibility."

Mark Sumerford, director of the Pathways Center, the homeless shelter, said he was elated by the news.

"We had no idea, no expectations that was coming to us this morning," he said.

"It means we’ll be able to continue the services that we have provided, and not have to worry about where that money is coming form that the county had cut."

Toland hopes his church’s donation will inspire other houses of worship to come to Greensboro Urban Ministry’s aid.

"We’re called not just to make a different in the four walls of our church," he said, referring to his church, "we’re called to make an impact in our community."

Yes, Believing Big for Big Great God to move. Those are the words ringing at the back of my head during the very season of my life. Since getting my green card, I have been job hunting every single day from sun up to sun down. Josh has been very supportive and loving as I was going through those "pit". Job hunting in US is no joke, it is not how much you know here, but who you know here. Arrrgh, networking. But Believing Big is still the foundation that I carry through my job hunt regardless of what the world say.
I have been to a lot of face to face and phone interviews, exposed to all sorts of different type of people that illuminate different work ethics and values, and I was offered so many "work-at-home" and 100% commission jobs, nothing wrong with that, just that I know in my heart what I am looking for in a job that I would like to invest my time and life now.
Recently, I passed my road test and got my driver's license. It is definitely the favor of God opening up and I know He is the strength of my heart. However, I am still nervous behind wheels and I am just practicing everyday to get it right.Praise God for all that.
So, the praise report is, I am accepted for a job!! Yes!! It is a job with Guilford County in the department of environmental health. My future job title will be Environmental Health Inspector, and the connection with my driver's license is ---> it is one of the requirements for the job. I am overwhelm. I am just thankful that I got my driver's license before going for the job interview. I am excited to start and to learn from my future team. July 2nd will be my first day, but I am thinking of going there sometimes before the day to clean up the cubicle that I will be placed in and just getting to know my colleagues in an interpersonal level too.
The 2 main rules that I was told by the supervisor of Environmental Health are to come to work at 8am and to share Kohls' department store 30% discount with everybody during the sale.:P
How funny..
Anyway, I would love to express my heartfelt thanks to my God, my husband, family in law, all my friends in NC, NYC,Malaysia, Japan, Thai hmm.. and ow, China for standing with me and covering me with prayers during these crucial time. Thanks for believing big with me!!!

God is awesome in this place and even "networking" stereotype can't beat the relevancy of God in the world!!

As for me, I look to the LORD for his help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Micah 7:7

For those of you who aren't sure what is green card, I found an explanation of it from wikipedia which says:

A United States Permanent Resident Card, known popularly as a Green Card, is an identification card for a lawful permanent resident (LPR) of the United States of America who does not have U.S. citizenship. It is proof that the holder has permission to conditionally reside and take employment in the U.S.

I am still overwhelm with the approval of my application a few days ago!! I got a mail from the Homeland Security and stated the approval of my status without any interview. I am also really surprised to get it so soon because I was thinking that I might only get it at the end of the year.

Praise God for His faithfulness and His strength as both Joshua and me brave this process together.

This is the timeline for my green card process:

Blessed thanksgiving everybody!! I am going to have my first thanksgiving tomorrow and I am really excited.. I never truly understood the reason behind thanksgiving or who came up with thanksgiving, so I decided to do a small research on it and found out a few interesting facts about it...

Here are some of my discoveries:

Also called Turkey Day
Observed by Canada, United States
Type Cultural
Significance A celebration of being thankful for what one has
Date Second Monday in October (Canada), fourth Thursday in November (USA).

Celebrations Parades, Spending Time with Family, Eating Large Dinners, Football (Canada and USA) games
Related to Christmas and New Year's Day which conclude the American holiday season, and Columbus Day.

In America, certain kinds of food are traditionally served at Thanksgiving meals. First and foremost, Domesticated turkey is usually the featured item on any Thanksgiving feast table (so much so that Thanksgiving is sometimes referred to as “Turkey Day”). Stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, Indian corn and other fall vegetables, and pumpkin pie are also commonly associated with Thanksgiving dinner.

On Thanksgiving Day, families and friends usually gather for a large meal or dinner. This results in Thanksgiving holiday weekend being one of the busiest travel periods of the year.

WooHoo, sounds like there is going to be lots of food and fun!!

Praise God for His goodness and strength in our lives! I can't believe that I haven't blog for such a long time!! I have to admit that I have been missing in action and not updating my multiply since the day I came to America.

Well, I will briefly tell about what I have been doing prior to the wedding day on October 14th.

P.L.A.N.N.I.N.G!!

Joshua and me only had 1 month to plan out the whole wedding when we arrived in America. I am deeply grateful for his whole family and also some really thoughtful friends that helped out during this critical time. The amazing part is to see the hands of God Himself moving in a supernatural way that everything turned out to be for His glory and praise as Joshua and me celebrated to be husband and wife.

I remembered I was discouraged at times and wished I would have taken a longer time to plan. But some how, a voice in me keep telling me that it is possible with Him. With that in mind as my living hope and source of strength, I pressed on and surrender everything in the hands of God.

Joshua and me had an outdoor wedding in his parents' beautifully designed home. I still could recalled the week before the wedding, the weather forecast predicted that it would rain a day before the wedding and this might not be a good idea to have an outdoor wedding because the garden will be rather wet.Joshua and me continue to seek the Lord in prayer and asked family and friends to stand and agree with us in prayer about it and for God's will to be done that day.I praise God for His favor upon all these and granting a beautiful sunny and windy weather that day!! I had so much fun and although I was nervous before the whole event, I am blessed to have my sister, my friends from all over the states and my friends from Japan to be there with me that day. My sister and friends even had a surprise dinner for Joshua and me later that evening in the place that we are now residing.

The wedding was from 2pm and it ended at about 3pm and then we had the reception from about 3.30pm to about 5pm. It was rather different from what I have been exposed to in Malaysia so it was interesting and fun altogether.

By the way, I really wanted to broadcast it live from webcam to my beloved housemates and friends but because of shortage of resources and limited time, we failed to meet this particular area and I want to apologize about that. However, I will post the pictures during the wedding and hopefully the video too when it is done!! So please bear with me and I promise to update all of you there!!

Joshua and me just came back from our honeymoon 2 days ago and we took off about 10 days driving from North Carolina into the mountains and just driving through those parkways with autumn leaves, touring those majestic and mysterious endless caverns and luray caverns in Virginia, and then we drove up to Washington DC. I loved it!! So much to learn about this country in Washington DC!! We drove back down from Washington to where George Washington used to reside and then we went to paramount's King's Dominion theme park on our last day of our First Honeymoon..King's Dominion was thrilling with tons of roller coaster rides that awed me and freaked me out the moment I gazed at it!!

Thank you Joshua Aaron Ausley my dear husband for all that you have done and you are my pride and joy!! I am honored to be your best friend and I am excited to grow old gracefully with you and be PhD in you!!

Above all, thank you Lord Jesus for your promise and your faithfulness in fulfilling your purpose in our lives. Help us to be salty and bright and be a blessing to those that we will come to meet in present and also in our future lives together!!

Blessed be the name of the Lord most High!!

I miss all of you my friends and family and for those having their exams in USM, my prayers go before you and for those working, may the joy of the Lord be your strength!!

Take care and God bless you!!

Yes! Yes! Praise God! I am still thrill just seeing the visa(s) in my passport!!! WOW... I got both US and Japan's visa this week...Phew, it was tough and tiring, but I thank God for His extraordinary and supernatural strength and His sufficient grace that is before me.I also want to thank all my brothers and sisters in Christ that stood with me and agreed with me in the power of prayer! I am really encouraged by the way all of you responded so swiftly and it truly reflect the unfailing and unconditional profound Love that God shows us.

So, I am now getting ready to fly to Japan and will be in Malaysia for my convocation!! YAY..

I am excited what God has in store for me in Japan this time..

Into Your hands Father I commit again...

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5

We cannot see things with an eternal perspective like God does. His works are beyond our understanding. We will never be able to comprehend His thoughts or ways, but we can trust Him and know that His plans for us are for good and not for evil. He will keep us safe in His everlasting arms.

I was reading my devotion and came across this article and it made me wondered a lot about the Grace of God..I even remembered, how we all humans can be so selective to love with condition and created some sort of  CHECK LIST to find our spouse...Do you think that God has a checklist in our life?? Why can't we all just respond like Him and trust Him whole heartedly??
Anyways, this is the article..:

SF, blonde, blue eyes, who enjoys sporting events, cooking and animals seeks SM, tall and dark, who likes sports, adventures, and good times. MUST be employed, romantic, and willing to have kids.

Even if you never bothered with the personals, I'll bet you had a mental checklist of traits you were looking for in a man. Maybe your list was quite "DETAILED", with some traits labeled "negotiable", others "non negotiable". Or maybe your only requirement was "romantic chemistry must explode"

Can you imagine, though, if your groom to be suddenly decided to create a checklist for you, his soon-to-be-bride? Imagine him writing a list...and a long list like the sort you find in the personal ads, to make sure that you measure up to his expectations."Does she give me back rubs?" . CHECK. "Does she keep her house clean and try to look good herself?" .CHECK.CHECK.

I have a feeling that if your guy wrote this "checklist", he'd be getting a punch in the arm~~or worse..!NO ONE..LET ME REPEAT NOBODY, wants to feel like a rent-a-bride.We don't want to earn our groom's love through roast beef sandwiches, weeded flower beds, or a nice pair of legs. We just want to be loved for who we are---on good days and bad..

Though checklists seem to work in the personal ads--narrowing the field and weeding out the people who won't work--they just don't work well in real-life romantic relationships. When it comes to marriage, who wants to live with someone who's measuring his or her performance on a DAILY BASIS??

Funny thing is, sometimes that's how we view God. We think of our spiritual life as if it were personal ad:"Awesome, All-powerful God seeks someone who will pray every day, attend regular church services, and volunteer to help the needy at least 2 times a week". So we do those things and try to be "BETTER" christians. But deep down, we still worry that it's not enough--that we won't measure up to God.

But the truth is God doesn't have a self-help checklist for us. He's not waiting for us to make ourself "more" before we can be His bride. Instead He woos us with grace, offering to save us despite our mess-ups.Offering His love on good days and bad..

IF you've been running the rat race lately, trying to earn "righteous" mark on God's checklist, stop for a minute and listen to these words " Come to me, all ou who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matt 11:28). God's not expecting you to earn righteousness on your own---that's a burden too heavy for you to bear.

Instead just remember the budget of grace. You don't need to buy God's love or salvation--He already loves you for who you are...

Praise the Lord!! It is absolutely unbelievable to know that Joshua and my case had been approved!! The longest waiting time for this visa ended, and it is truly a beautiful time that God is in control..I am done with my finals and now I believe this is God's next mission for me to patiently go through the next phase in this visa application..

Apart from that, I am really hoping to teach english in church for now and just catching up with friends before they go different ways.. I just pray that I could allow God to use me to testify the LOVE..

Well, here is one part of the email from the USCIS that I received from Josh,

"Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
>
>Current Status:
>
>This case has been approved. On April 28, 2006, an approval notice was
mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice,
you
may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address,
please
speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours."

I am still overwhelm...

Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD. Psalm 27:14

Sometimes our fears creep in because it seems like God is taking too long to answer us. Is he out there? Hold on--he will answer you, so you must trust him while you wait.

Please remember us in prayer...

WOW...I am just so overwhelm now to know that I am done with my campus life..This exam period had been one of the most challenging one that I ever had..Somehow it ended and I just could praise God for all those difficult times that He had walked with me and answered my prayers too.I am just glad to end it gracefully and could move on to the next chapter of my life with the prince of Peace guiding me step by step in His beautiful timing.

I know there were so many times that I demanded for a quick fix to a tribulation when it was important to shape my character into the person that I am intended to be in His mind.

There were multiple things that took place these few months and it was truly like one of those roller coaster rides that causes heart beats to go beyond the norms..hehe...

It has been such an honour to lead a cell group and the essence of being a leader is to be the one that is serving the members lovingly..The whole year just knowing them and seeing them grow truly spice up my final year in campus.Their encouragement and prayers really touched me and served exactly like a blessing in disguise without me knowing it.I just wished I could have done better and I know I am really going to miss them all so much..Thank you Solomonites for being patient with me and running this race with me in this season of our life.

The other most precious thing that is close to my heart during this final year is my housemates...or mei yee called us the "remnants of 8-13-2", I like that , I really do...Just reflecting how God has been faithful through it all..Bringing different individuals from extreme backgrounds and just allowing all of us to stay together under one roof is a miracle in itself!! From being mere acquitance, I know they all evolved to become those iron that I know can sharpen me in every aspects of my life..All those fun times, deep sharing, makans, outings, jokes, prayers, advices, lifestyle...wow, the list truly goes on and on..from girl talks to every other things that happened..I know I have learnt so much from them and absorbed part of their captivating value in me too.I feel weird now that I have to move out soon, after staying here for 3 years!!! HMM excluding a year that I was in Japan ...still this place had a special place in my heart when I was there..I remembered how anxious I was to know about the latest updates about the others in 8-13-2 while residing in Japan..I know I am very much attach to this "Family" of mine in campus. arigatou ne...I am going to treasure each of you and now that we will part ways soon, I just could cry out to God that He will bless all your life now and beyond..

So, I am extremely excited to what is in store next..There are just so many things to sort out and I really have no idea where to start..sigh .. I just have to cling to His sufficient grace to go through it all.

Well, this journey has definitely shape me and mould me as God is the ultimate foundation of this splendour journey that He allowed in my life.Blessed be the name of the LORD and Thank you Jesus ultimately for He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the end..

Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful.

Romans 12:12

God has big plans for you--even if it may not seem like it right now. Even in the worst of circumstances, God has provided a heavenly hope. Keep telling him about your struggles, and he'll keep holding you up.

wow!! 2006!! a new year has begun..As I turn over a new leaf for a new year, I checked my so-called list of resolutions that I sort of made for year 2005..well, some of them had come to passed but some are still left like a mystery to me.But it does not really matter, because I am looking forward ahead of what God has in store for me according to His perfect plan instead.

My final month of 2005, had been rather an eventful one for me.It kicked off with my one month semester of holidays and I went back home for almost 2 weeks to get some documents done for some travelling purposes that I had planned earlier.Although things didnt turn out like what I thought it would be, I am now thankful for those times I spent at home with my family.I headed to Thailand after that for almost 10 days....and yes, I am engaged!!

It is official that Joshua and me are engaged now.It was a great time to meet up with dear friends from thailand.Pak and Ling took good care of my stay in Bangkok.I am ultimately glad to be able to meet my ex roomie, Nui too.Although it was just for a short time, but i do treasure every second with all my heart. It was a good time of sharing and talking too. Also, Jim, (sister of Pak) did a splendid job to arrange for all those tours while I was in Phuket. And not forgetting, my time in Hadyai too, just relaxing with Pik yee and spending time with the family of Pak was really an eye opening experience to be in depth with the people in Thailand.

I am so encouraged on how Pik Yee stepped out from her comfort zone too and I am thankful to be able to get to know her even better now.She has been a great company for the whole trip and although we were facing some difficulties at times, she was patient to endure it.I thank God for pouring out extra strength for us to go on through those critical moments. It is hard to hang on to the truth when the going gets rough.....but He is faithful to provide a way out to redeem us!!

well, my classes already started, and on top of that, I am taking up a part time job too.I still find it hard to juggle and manage my time well because it has been so tiring to play multiple roles now.one moment I was in class, the next, I was working, and then my assignments etc etc...It has been exciting so far but I think I need to set my priorities right.I cant believe that this will be my final semester and I will be graduating soon!! yahoo...finally...I do have the intention to do my best as a primary call as a student, and ultimately to be the salt and light in wherever that I am placed in.What more now, that I am engaged, there are so many things to sort out and to be done, and I am surrendering this whole situation to Jesus and believe that He will walk with me through those valley and will bring me to a higher level with Him.

Honestly, I am extremely nervous, but I know the VOICE OF TRUTH tells me a different story.I still could recall how nervous I was when I was doing my final year assignment about Heavy Metal Pollution on Fish...hehe..the inaudibly VOICE OF TRUTH, indeed has been faithful and kept His promise.I know He will do it again according to His beautiful time.I might have a set of time in my mind, but my ways are not His and my thoughts are lower.I just hope that as I run the finishing lap for my campus life I want to finish it well, even though I might messed up in the middle, I do want to finish it well to bring all the glory back to HIM...

Choose to love the Lord your God and to obey him and commit yourself to him, for he is your life.
